Frequently asked questions
Know the service, boundaries, pricing, and process before you book.
SPS starts with clear expectations. If your question is not answered here, the free fit call is the right place for a broad conversation—not sensitive records or detailed claim information.
About SPS
Role and service boundaries
SPS provides education and organization. It is not a representative, law firm, medical provider, or government office.
Does SPS file or submit VA claims?
No. SPS does not file or submit claims, appeals, evidence, forms, or correspondence for veterans. The veteran remains responsible for deciding what to file and submitting it to VA.
Is SPS VA-accredited?
No. SPS is not a VSO, VA-accredited attorney, or VA-accredited claims agent. It does not represent veterans before VA or communicate with VA as a client representative.
Does SPS provide legal or medical advice?
No. SPS does not provide legal advice, medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, nexus opinions, or DBQs.
Does SPS guarantee a rating, approval, increase, or back pay?
No. VA makes every decision. SPS does not guarantee approval, rating percentage, increase, effective date, back pay, permanent and total status, or any other outcome.
Is SPS affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs?
No. Service Path Solutions LLC is an independent veteran-owned business and is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Getting started
Fit call, records, and enrollment
The relationship stages are separate so prospects understand what they have—and have not—agreed to.
What happens during the free 20-minute call?
SPS asks broad questions about the general stage of the VA process and the kind of education or organization support you are seeking. SPS also explains its role, boundaries, and what may happen next. No sensitive records are needed.
Do I need to complete a screening form before the call?
No. The public funnel begins with the fit call. There is no mandatory public screening form before it.
When may SPS request sensitive records?
Only after SPS decides a private records review is appropriate and the Prospect & Client Document Consent and Privacy Notice is electronically signed. SPS then provides one unique Dropbox File Request for that prospect. The uploader cannot browse the underlying private folder or other files.
Does signing the privacy notice make me a client?
No. It authorizes only the possible pre-acceptance records review. It does not guarantee acceptance, create a paid client relationship, authorize claim submission, or create VA representation.
What does the pre-acceptance review include?
It is conducted solely to decide whether SPS will offer enrollment. It does not include a final readiness plan, written strategy, prepared statements, C&P preparation, filing guidance, or other paid-program deliverables.
When do I become an active client?
Only after SPS accepts the engagement, the Client Service Agreement is signed, and the required initial payment is received.
What happens to records if SPS declines enrollment?
SPS closes the File Request and deletes submitted source records from active Dropbox storage within 30 days, subject to the limited exceptions in the signed privacy notice. A limited administrative record may be retained as described in that notice.
Pricing and alternatives
Understand your options
Veterans can choose among education, free accredited assistance, and other qualified support.
How does SPS pricing work?
SPS charges a fixed educational-service fee rather than a percentage of VA compensation. Current pricing and available payment options are provided in writing before enrollment. You can review the complete terms before deciding whether to continue.
Does SPS take a percentage of VA compensation?
No. SPS charges a fixed educational-service fee. It does not take a percentage of monthly compensation, back pay, or a future award.
Can a VSO help me for free?
Yes. VA-accredited VSO representatives provide claims assistance free of charge. They can help file claims and may represent veterans before VA—services SPS does not provide.
Can I work with an accredited representative?
Yes. Veterans may choose to work with a VA-accredited VSO representative, claims agent, or attorney. SPS encourages veterans to understand the difference between accredited representation and SPS’s educational role.
Does the website calculator guarantee my payment?
No. It provides a general estimate using the rate data identified on the calculator page. VA determines combined ratings, dependent eligibility, and actual compensation.
